Taking Responsibility In The Kingdom Of God

Gal 6:4-5“Make a careful exploration of who you are and the work you have been given, and then sink yourself into that. Don’t be impressed with yourself. Don’t compare yourself with others. 5 Each of you must take responsibility for doing the creative best you can with your own life.”MSG

I want us to know that we have a major responsibility To God concerning our life’s and ministry and families and destinies.

Most Christians it doesn’t dawn on them that God holds them responsible for having Jesus for having the wisdom and knowledge of God.  God holds us responsible for the life, talent and abilities and callings we have and one day he will ask us to give an account.

The word Responsibility means: Liable to be required to give account, as of one’s actions or of the discharge of a duty or trust. Involving personal accountability or ability to act without guidance or superior authority: (No one should have to remind you) Being a source or cause.  Able to make moral or rational decisions on one’s own and therefore answerable for one’s behavior. Able to be trusted or depended upon; reliable. Based on or characterized by good judgment or sound thinking:  Having the means to pay debts or fulfill obligations.  Required to render account; answerable

I want us to know that we have a responsibility before God  So many of God’s people live like they don’t have a responsibility.

Did you know

  • 4,000 new churches begin each year and 7,000 churches close.
  • Over 1,700 pastors leave the ministry every month.
  • Over 3,500 people leave church a day.

How can this be… Because many Christians feeling no responsibility

We need an awakening of responsibility  in our life’s.  In our text Paul is speaking to the Galatians and tells them you have work to do God saved you for a work and you must take responsibility in that calling work purpose that he has for you.

As a Christian a leader a mother a father a teen ager you have a responsibility to God to do the will of God.   Listen we are living in a generation that feels I can do what I want to do.

Even Christian ministers and leaders and people in ministry feel like I don’t have to take on responsibility at my post.  And the devil has this generation thinking that it doesn’t matter if you’re faithful or loyal and responsible and it does Christian.

Many Christians so many stay home take off and leave there responsibility like souls are not hanging in the balance.   This generation is the smartest generation but the laziest in history because it thinks I can do whatever I want. And it thinks it’s automatically going to happen.

This generation feels don’t follow my walk follows my talk.  Don’t look at what I do but just listen to what I say. Don’t look at my lack of responsibility but look at my words and heart but never realizing your heart or words need to match up with your walk and responsibility. I feel like it’s a plague in our world today…

Even many in ministry can take it so lightly and not even show up for their ministry and have no accountability.  And even those that are not in ministry I’m not doing nothing in here or for God so what.  Oh listen to me there is a major responsibility we have before our God and must keep it and maintain it and conviction needs to be there big time.

JUST WHAT IS OUR RESPONSIBILITY AS CHRISTIANS? We are to be AMBASSADORS?   We are to be God’s Ambassadors  PAUL TELLS US IN 2 CORINTHIANS 5:20 “Now then we are ambassadors for Christ,” WHAT IS AN AMBASSADOR?

WEBSTER DEFINES AMBASSADOR AS “AN OFFICIAL OF THE HIGHEST RANK SENT TO REPRESENT HIS GOVERNMENT IN A FOREIGN COUNTRY.”

AN OFFICIAL OF THE HIGHEST RANK. DID YOU KNOW THAT WE AS CHRISTIANS ARE OFFICIALS OF THE HIGHEST RANK?   God has given you a responsibility He has called you as an Ambassador.  We are to represent his Kingdom.

AS AMBASSADORS WE ARE TO REPRESENT JESUS IN THIS PRESENT WORLD. WE ARE TO GO AND SHARE THE GOSPEL WITH OTHERS. THIS IS THE MESSAGE THAT GOD HAS ENTRUSTED US WITH. WE HAVE EXPRESS AND FIRST HAND KNOWLEDGE OF WHAT THE WORLD IS IN DESPERATE NEED OF.

WE HAVE BEEN CHOSEN TO SPREAD THIS MESSAGE TO EVERY FOREIGNER (OR SINNER) THAT WE COME IN CONTACT WITH.

ARE WE FAILING AS AMBASSADORS TO CHRIST?   ARE WE DOING THE JOB THAT WE HAVE BEEN APPOINTED BY GOD ALMIGHTY TO DO?

THERE ARE DIRE CONSEQUENCES FOR POOR PERFORMANCE.  HOW MANY OF YOU HAVE EVER UNDERGONE A PERFORMANCE REVIEW?   YOU NORMALLY GET THOSE ABOUT ONCE A YEAR. WELL, OUR PERFORMANCE REVIEWS AS AMBASSADORS FOR CHRIST WILL COME ONLY ONE TIME.

You see It is serious and the Responsibility is serious and we must take it as serious.

Rom 14:12 “So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God.”NIV

1 Cor 3:13-15“his work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man’s work. 14 If what he has built survives, he will receive his reward. 15 If it is burned up, he will suffer loss; he himself will be saved, but only as one escaping through the flames.”NIV

Eccl 12:14 “And that’s it. Eventually God will bring everything that we do out into the open and judge it according to its hidden intent, whether it’s good or evil.”MSG

Rev 20:12-13 “ And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what he had done.”NIV

2 Cor 5:10-11“Sooner or later we’ll all have to face God, regardless of our conditions. We will appear before Christ and take what’s coming to us as a result of our actions, either good or bad. 11 That keeps us vigilant, you can be sure. It’s no light thing to know that we’ll all one day stand in that place of Judgment. That’s why we work urgently with everyone we meet to get them ready to face God. God alone knows how well we do this, but I hope you realize how much and deeply we care.’MSG

I want us to see that we have responsibility..

As leaders you have responsibility to people you are leading it is not a light thing.

As ministry workers you have a responsibility to those you are helping

As people in the church we have a responsibility To Do the work of God.

I say this because it’s scary times when you see the mindset or the way people live and serve God like they have no responsibility to God to his people to his Kingdom.

Pastors are not the only ones with responsibility all of us do.  How is your responsibility in the Kingdom? Some don’t even have any, Some take it lightly Some never think about t.

Think about it this way what if we had no responsibility at our jobs, we would get fired come in when we want to call the boss and feel like just showing up.

What about our marriages we would ruin it come in when you want and if you feel like it and don’t do anything just come in check in check out watch a movie and say bye.

What about in our bills with our children.

Responsibility is even greater when it comes to God because everything hinges on that.

The kingdom suffers lost because of lack of responsibility. Men and women can’t be counted on because of lack of responsibility. Men and women can’t be used because of lack of responsibility and Satan knows that

Look at the responsibility we have.  1 Peter 4:2-5 “As a result, he does not live the rest of his earthly life for evil human desires, but rather for the will of God. 3 For you have spent enough time in the past doing what pagans choose to do — living in debauchery, lust, drunkenness, orgies, carousing and detestable idolatry. 4 They think it strange that you do not plunge with them into the same flood of dissipation, and they heap abuse on you. 5 But they will have to give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.”NIV

1 John 2:17 “The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.”NIV

Matt 7:21″Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.”NIV

The bible calls us 1 PETER 2:9-10 “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 10 Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.”NIV

We must declare the praises of God. WE ARE A ROYAL PRIESTHOOD.

AS JOINT HEIRS WITH CHRIST, AND AS PART OF A ROYAL PRIESTHOOD, WE ARE THEREFORE OFFICIALS OF THE HIGHEST RANK, REPRESENTING THE GOVERNMENT OF THE KINGDOM OF GOD IN A WORLD WHERE WE ARE FOREIGNERS.   WE ARE SET APART, WE ARE A PECULIAR PEOPLE. WE ARE FOREIGN TO THE WORLD SYSTEM BECAUSE WE HAVE BEEN REDEEMED.

And we have been called to represent Jesus to show this world God is alive
Ezek 33:1-9 “The word of the Lord came to me: 2 “Son of man, speak to your countrymen and say to them: ‘When I bring the sword against a land, and the people of the land choose one of their men and make him their watchman, 3 and he sees the sword coming against the land and blows the trumpet to warn the people, 4 then if anyone hears the trumpet but does not take warning and the sword comes and takes his life, his blood will be on his own head. 5 Since he heard the sound of the trumpet but did not take warning, his blood will be on his own head. If he had taken warning, he would have saved himself.  6 But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet to warn the people and the sword comes and takes the life of one of them, that man will be taken away because of his sin, but I will hold the watchman accountable for his blood.’ 7 “Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them warning from me. 8 When I say to the wicked, ‘O wicked man, you will surely die,’ and you do not speak out to dissuade him from his ways, that wicked man will die for his sin, and I will hold you accountable for his blood. 9 But if you do warn the wicked man to turn from his ways and he does not do so, he will die for his sin, but you will have saved yourself.”NIV

OUR RESPONSIBILITY IS TO BE WATCHMEN TO THE WORLD. THIS IS THE OLD TESTAMENT WORD FOR AMBASSADOR.

GOD IS TELLING US THROUGH EZEKIEL THAT WE ARE TO WARN THE WICKED (THE LOST) OF THE CONSEQUENCES OF SIN, AND THAT CONSEQUENCE IS WHAT? VERSE 8 SAYS O WICKED MAN, THOU SHALT SURELY DIE.   We are to take responsibility.

YOU ALL HAVE RESPONSIBILITIES AT HOME, AT WORK, EVEN AT PLAY. IF YOU ARE ON A BALL TEAM THEN YOU HAVE RESPONSIBILITY TO HELP DEFEAT THE OTHER TEAM. AS CHRISTIANS IT IS OUR RESPONSIBILITY TO SHARE JESUS WITH THE WORLD.

SOMEONE ONCE ASKED DANIEL WEBSTER “WHAT WOULD YOU CONSIDER TO BE THE GREATEST SINGLE THOUGHT THAT EVER OCCUPIED YOUR MIND?” WITHOUT ANY HESITATION HE ANSWERED, “THE GREATEST SINGLE THOUGHT THAT EVER OCCUPIED MY MIND IS THAT ONE DAY I WILL HAVE TO GIVE AN ACCOUNT OF MYSELF TO ALMIGHTY GOD.”

We want these words spoken over us Responsibility Matt 25:21″His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’ “NIV   I pray that are lives will be lived with Responsibility towards God.

If you’re in ministry don’t take it lightly show up don’t stay home people are counting on you.

If you are not in ministry Get responsibly and let’s do the will of God together workers are needed.

If you are a leader of a ministry don’t take your position lightly what you do affects the Kingdom

Responsibility we will have to uphold until Christ comes back and even then he will give us new ones when we get to Heaven.

Christ took on responsibility what about Us.  Will you take it up will you renew it will you grab it will you keep it.
